How often can I use the Arch Genie™?
You may use your Arch Genie as often as you'd like! Remember to warm up your feet and ankles before beginning a stretch. For best results, we recommend using the Arch Genie daily for a minimum of 5 minutes per foot. Please refer to our How It Works section for instructions and tips.
When will my order be shipped?
We do our best to fulfill and ship all orders within 36 hours. However, as stated in our Shipping and Delivery policy, it may takes between 1-7 business days for your order to be constructed and shipped. That processing time will vary depending on stock and current sale volume. Once your order is shipped you will be notified and receive a tracking number (if available with your shipping option).
Why is my international order taking so long to arrive?
We offer several international shipping options based on the expected arrival time. We get this question most often when it comes to our "Standard International" shipping method--which is the least expensive, most popular, and also takes the longest to arrive. Generally, our "Standard International" orders arrive within 2-4 weeks of shipment. However, with all international shipping methods, packages may get held up at your local customs and/or local delivery agencies...further delaying the delivery process. In the past, we have had "Standard International" packages that took 12+ weeks to arrive because of local customs/postal delays. Unfortunately, with this "Standard" method, once an order leaves the United States we can't track it, so we have no way of knowing where it is. The good news is we have not had a lost international order yet! Please refer to our Shipping and Delivery policy for more information.
Can I track my international order?
Yes...depending on the shipping method you paid for. Full tracking is available with the purchase of "Global Express" shipping. Limited tracking is available to most destinations with the purchase of "Global Priority" shipping. Unfortunately tracking is not available for international customers who select the "Standard International" shipping option. We ship our products through the United States Postal Service (USPS), which is by far the most affordable option. However, USPS currently only offers limited tracking on upgraded shipping options. Please refer to our Shipping and Delivery policy for more information.

Will the Arch Genie™ cause tendonitis or damage my feet?
**Note: This information is intended for reference only and should in no way replace the opinion of a licensed health professional.
If you're an active dancer you will probably experience tendonitis at some point in your training. Flexor Hallucis Longus (FHL) Tendonopathy, or tendonitis, is an overuse injury in which repetitive plantarflexion (pointing) and dorsiflexion (flexing) of the foot lead to inflammation of the FHL tendon. The site of inflammation is typically in the back of the ankle.
Dancer's tendonitis is more common in female ballet dancers who spend a lot of time en pointe or demi pointe. Much like being en pointe or demi pointe, the Arch Genie forces plantarflexion (pointing) of the foot, which if over done, may cause inflammation. Tendonitis can also be caused by repetitive jumping, or spending long amounts of time in grand plie.
It is important to "listen" to your body when stretching, or dancing in general. It will warn you if you have pushed it too far by making you experience pain, swelling, etc.
If you experience pain in the back of your heel when using the Arch Genie, stop use immediately and refrain from all pointe and demi pointe work until the inflammation subsides. As with any injury, you are advised to seek advise from a licensed health professional. If the pain is manageable you may try these tips to treat it:
- Applying an ice pack to the affected area for 5-10 minutes several times a day.
- Anti-inflammatory drugs (such as Ibuprophen) will help reduce the inflammation and manage pain.
If the pain persists you are advised to seek medical help.
Please refer to our How It Works page for information on how to properly warm up for a stretch.

Is the Arch Genie™ safe to use?
Yes the Arch Genie is safe to use! There is, of course, always the possibility of injury if our user instructions aren't followed and/or if the user pushes their stretch too far and too fast. Nevertheless, the Arch Genie poses no more risk than the use of toe shoes.
Are contoured foot stretchers better than the Arch Genie™?
No! Contoured stretchers (that follow the natural path of the foot and leg) like Ballet Footstretch, The Footstretcher, and others are actually less effective than the Arch Genie.
Foot stretchers work on leverage and the laws of physics. Contouring the stretcher shape to match the body actually decreases that leverage and ultimately limits the possible stretch. As a result, users of contoured stretchers will be limited in the amount of change that can be seen and will also hit the peak of stretching ability sooner than with an Arch Genie.
On top of less stretching power, contoured stretchers are shaped/molded into a one size fits all arch curve. In the real world, arches come in all shapes and sizes and one size fits all doesn't work. As a result, many users will experience extreme discomfort while using a contoured stretcher as it attempts to force the foot arch to conform to its rigid standards. Whereas, the Arch Genie is flat to allow for natural stretching and developing of each persons individual arch. The Arch Genie also adds special gel and foam padding at key points to provide a more comfortable stretch...as opposed to uncomfortable carved hard wood or molded plastic!
Contoured stretchers also cost a lot more than the Arch Genie! So you will be paying more for a foot stretcher that is less effective and uncomfortable to use.
Are contoured stretchers safer than the Arch Genie™?
No, contoured foot stretchers (like Ballet Footstretch, The Footstretcher, and others) are not safer to use than the Arch Genie.
Many of our competitors (particularly the makers of contoured stretchers) try to discredit our product by stating that our products are unsafe. They claim that their stretchers are safe because 'they follow the natural contour of the body.' However, these claims are false and can't be backed up by scientific evidence. In fact, the contoured stretchers are actually less effective than the Arch Genie.
There is, of course, always the possibility of injury if our user instructions aren't followed or the user pushes their stretch too far and too fast. Nevertheless, the Arch Genie poses no more risk than the use of toe shoes.
Why do you call yourself the "original foot stretcher"?
We, at Arch Genie L.L.C., are proud to call ourselves "the original foot arch stretcher" because we designed the Arch Genie in 2000 and put it to use in 2001. At first, the Arch Genie was only available for personal use to its creator and a select group of friends and fellow dancers. When we finally launched the Arch Genie online in 2009, we were the only flat-style foot stretcher on the market. After 7-years and tens of thousands of Arch Genie sales worldwide we are please to be the most popular foot stretcher on the market...and the trusted choice of professionals worldwide!
Are there "knock offs" of the Arch Genie?
Yes! Our products are so popular and in such high demand that there are companies making "knock off" versions and flooding the market (that we created) with inferior dance tools. Some of these competitors claim to be "superior" to the Arch Genie, some declare themselves to be "perfect" for your pointe or "fab"ulous for your foot, some assert to be "made by grammy" or "precious4ever", while others promise increased "flexi-bility" or an enhanced "archstretch" that will improve your pointe in "express" fashion...but in the end they are all cheap "knknockoffs" (please pardon the spelling error) of our original foot arch stretcher design.
DON'T ACCEPT ANY CHEAP IMITATION OF THE ARCH GENIE!!! We provided the original innovation for this style of foot stretcher! We have the most experience creating Arch Genie style foot stretchers! And we have made considerable improvements to our Arch Genie foot stretchers along the way! So by choosing Arch Genie, you can rest assured that you are buying a high-quality foot stretcher that will give you the results that you desire!

Why can't I find one of your Arch Genie styles to buy?
If you are struggling to find a particular style of Arch Genie to buy then there is a good chance that we have stopped making it. We occasionally discontinue Arch Genie styles and/or reuse style names for different patterns. The main reason we stop making and/or change styles is that our fabric manufacturer discontinues production of the pattern and we can't buy it any more. However, sometimes we discontinue styles because they don't sell well...or for other reasons. If you want to see if a particular style has been discontinued, please visit the Style Vault section of our website--which shows all of our past styles.

Will the Arch Genie work for my child?
The Arch Genie is designed for users age 8 or older. However, it can work for children under age 8...depending on the size of your child's fully extended leg. Our Arch Genie base is 23" long, so it will work well if your child's leg is at least 23" when fully extended.
